Combo Rules

All players should know about on the Combo rules is simple. That is multiple attacks and a whole-area attack are advantageous in dealing heavier damages during AF.

Below is quite information for freaks regarding the rules applied to the increase of the Combo.

Base Amount

Any attacks, except for those by self-harm skills, add to Combo the base amount of 2%. In case of a whole-area attack, the base amount is multiplied by the number of monsters to be attacked.

Initial Skill Bonus

Whenever a character uses an attack skill that has not yet performed during a certain AF period, the initial skill bonus in the amount of 1% is added to Combo.
If several characters use the same name of the attack skill, the initial skill bonus is applied only to such attack as initially performed.

Initial Attack Bonus

Whenever an attack is made with the skill different from the immediately previous one, it increases Combo by 2% normally and by 3% in case it matches the Weak trait of the target.
When the other character, for clarity, makes an attack with the same skill as the immediately previous one, such an attack even if it is the initial one for the character is not treated as Initial Attack Bonus.
When character P, for further clarity, makes triple attacks (attack Pi, Pii and Piii) with the multiple attack skill and character Q intervenes between Pi and Pii with a single attack (Qi) with a different skill, each of Pi, Qi and Pii is treated as the initial attack and counted as Initial Attack Bonus and Piii is not.

Initial Attack Bonus of a whole-area attack

A count of 3% is made only if a whole-area attack matches to the Weak trait of the monster of the default target. Even if the monster is defeated, such count continues until all the monsters in a battle are defeated.

Ex.1 Initial Skill Bonus

Suppose Suzette encounters a monster with the Air Weak trait.

Turn 2
"Air thrust double (1)BA, ISB, IAB3,6
"Air thrust double (2)BA2
BA; Base Amount: ISB; Initial Skill Bonus
IAB2; 2% Initial Attack Bonus: IAB3; 3% Initial Attack Bonus

  • A normal attack in T1 is a skill and can be counted as ISB
  • The first (1) attack of the Air thrust double in the second turn, whose skill name is Dance of Elegance (Fuga no Mai), is counted as ISB as well as IAB3 because the skill is used for the first time and the skill pokes the Weak trait.

Ex.2 Initial Attack Bonus

Turn 1
RuinaSword (Slash)BA, ISB, IAB25
AldoSword (Slash)BA2
SakiWand (Blow)BA, ISB, IAB25
MilleSword (Slash)BA, IAB24
  • There are no IAB or ISB for the Aldo move because Aldo's attack is the same skill as Ruina's.

Ex.3 Whole-Area Attacks

  • Each fungi monster above has a respectively different Weak trait;
    • purple head with Air
    • orange with Fire
    • brown with Earth
    • blue with Water.
  • The default target is at the orange head fungi on the right.
