Cyrus is a Water type attacker and has a valuable VC of -20% PWR and physical resistance debuff. Without his PWR debuff and Aldo's physical resistance buff, no one would have challenged the main story with the story characters only.

One of his 5 star class skills, slash attack on a single enemy (XL) and PWR +20% (2 turn: max stack x3), fits with his VC because its PWR buff keeps its stack as long as he uses the skill when constantly switching back and forth. That is more favorable compared to Aldo's Dragon King Slash, which -20% slash resistance debuff can survive only one turn.

By the way, not a small number of players would recognize that the name, skills and motion of Cyrus are derived from Chrono Trigger.
